What Will Happen

    1. An I.V. will be started and you will be injected with a radioactive tracer called Tc99m Myoview.
    2. After being injected with Myoview there will be a 30-45 minute waiting period.
    3. A resting scan will be done on your heart. This takes approximately 18 minutes.
    4. After the rest scan, you will be hooked up to the EKG machine and will walk on the treadmill until you reach your target heart rate: at that time you will be injected with another dose Myoview and will walk approximately 60 seconds more. If you cannot walk on the treadmill you will be having a pharmacological stress test with Lexiscan.
    5. After the treadmill or pharmacological portion of the stress test, you will be given a snack and some juice or coffee and asked to wait for a period of time. You will then have your stress scan which can last 18 minutes.
    6. The full test can take up to 3-4 hours.
